FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We provide audit & assurance, direct and indirect taxation, GST compliance, company law matters, accounting outsourcing, fixed assets verification, information system audit, and business advisory — for both domestic and foreign companies.

Yes. We assist startups from incorporation through ongoing compliance, and support foreign companies operating in India. Our associated network of company secretaries, management consultants, and IT professionals lets us handle multi-disciplinary requirements under one engagement.

Every company registered under the Companies Act, 2013 requires an annual statutory audit, irrespective of turnover. For LLPs, firms, and individuals, audit applicability depends on turnover and other thresholds — share your details and we will assess your specific case.

Yes — from GST registration and monthly/annual return filing to reconciliations, compliances, assessments, and appeals. We keep your filing calendar on track so you avoid interest and penalties.

Yes. We provide bookkeeping, financial controlling consultation, company law compliances, and drafting of MOA/AoA as an outsourced service — working with your existing tools so your in-house team stays lean.

Under Rule 86B of the CGST Rules, 2017, if your monthly taxable turnover exceeds ₹50 lakh, at least 1% of your output tax liability must be paid in cash rather than entirely through ITC, subject to specified exceptions. Our free GST Health Checklist covers this and 14 other checks in detail.

Under Rule 37(1) of the CGST Rules, 2017, ITC must be reversed with interest on any invoice or debit note that remains unpaid to the supplier beyond 180 days from the invoice date. Reviewing creditor ageing monthly is the simplest way to avoid last-minute reversals — see checkpoint 6 of our GST Health Checklist.

GST registration is generally mandatory once aggregate turnover crosses ₹40 lakh for goods or ₹20 lakh for services (lower limits apply in special category states). It is also compulsory in certain cases regardless of turnover — such as inter-state supply, e-commerce sales, or reverse charge liability. Voluntary registration can also make sense to pass on ITC to customers. Share your business model and we will confirm what applies to you.

Under Section 44AB of the Income Tax Act, a tax audit generally applies when business turnover exceeds ₹1 crore (extended to ₹10 crore where at least 95% of receipts and payments are digital), or professional receipts exceed ₹50 lakh. Different rules apply under presumptive taxation. Thresholds are amended from time to time — we assess applicability as part of every engagement.

At minimum: statutory audit of accounts, filing of financial statements (AOC-4) and annual return (MGT-7/7A) with the ROC, income tax return, DIR-3 KYC for directors, board and general meetings with minutes, and statutory registers — plus GST, TDS, and payroll compliances where applicable. We run this entire calendar for our company clients so nothing is missed.

Don’t panic, and don’t ignore it — every notice has a reply deadline, and silence makes it worse. Send us the notice as soon as you receive it. We identify what triggered it (often a return mismatch), prepare the reconciliation and supporting documents, and draft a proper reply. Most notices close at the reply stage when handled early and completely.

Businesses must deduct TDS at prescribed rates on payments such as salaries, rent, professional fees, contractor payments, and interest; deposit it generally by the 7th of the following month; file quarterly TDS returns; and issue TDS certificates. Late deduction or deposit attracts interest and can disallow the expense. We manage the full TDS cycle for clients, including reconciliation with Form 26AS.

Often, yes. Small businesses can declare income at prescribed rates under Section 44AD (turnover up to ₹2 crore, extended to ₹3 crore with mostly digital receipts), and professionals under Section 44ADA (receipts up to ₹50 lakh, extended to ₹75 lakh with mostly digital receipts) — greatly simplifying books and audit requirements. Whether it actually saves you tax depends on your real margins; we evaluate both routes before recommending one.

Reach us on WhatsApp, call +91 98915 26796, or email ca@rkhurana.co. We start with a short discussion of your requirements, agree the scope, and take it from there — most engagements are onboarded within a few days.
